Big Walk PS5 Mic Not Working: Check Game Chat and Input Device

Restore microphone input in Big Walk on PS5.

Direct answer

Press the PS button, open Sound, and make sure Mute Game Voice Chat is off. Then go to Settings → Sound → Microphone, select the microphone you actually intend to use, and confirm the input level moves before relaunching Big Walk.

Do these in order

Shortest reliable path

  1. Unmute game voice chat

Open Control Centre → Sound and confirm Mute Game Voice Chat is disabled. This setting is separate from the controller's physical mute button.

  2. Select the correct microphone

Open Settings → Sound → Microphone and choose the controller, headset or USB mic you intend to use.

  3. Watch the input meter

Use Adjust Microphone Level. If the meter does not move, the problem is at the PS5/device level rather than inside Big Walk.

  4. Switch to game chat

Leave or switch away from party voice chat so Big Walk can use its own proximity chat.

  5. Restart after changing devices

Close Big Walk, connect the intended device, then launch again so the game detects the current route.

  6. Escalate with evidence

If the PS5 meter moves but Big Walk's mic check does not, contact Panic with the headset model, PS5 system version, game version and a short description.
